i have known matt scales for many years of and on because with both something in common we both have a genetic illness called cystic fibrosis.which affects the lungs,bowel and pancreas which we have to take many tablets for, especially creon if we dont then any food we eat will not get digested.
when where both younger we used to go to great ormand street till we got to the age of 16 then you have to move on to adult hospital which was the london chest and we got to make many friends over the years and had lots of fun chatting and getting together,if one of us was in the side rooms we used to sit in there having giggle and telling bad jokes.matt lived to the full enjoying life,in 2004 matt went to the cf awards and sung breathe which to this day has stayed in my heart and always will xxalso matt used to belong to a group called the gaff and they bought out a song called hey weirdo which is cool.
i will always remember matt as a happy young man and always had jokes to say,when we both used to go to the london chest there was a gang of us called the cookie crew(dont ask why)there used to be alan.baljit,louise,nicky(who worked on the reception at clinic)emma(alan's girlfriend) me,craig and a few other people who are know longer with us,we used to have loads of fun.matt always spoke about his lovley girlfriend amy,who he later married in august 2006,he was so happy marrying amy,when i used to speak to him on msn we always talked about our partners,home life and family,he also recentley bought a house with amy he was so happy as he said to me it was a big house and it had a basement big enough for his drum set :0).the last time we spoke he was aksing how i was because i had a rough time just before xmas 2006,thats was in january 2007 that was the last time we spoke.my thoughts are with his wife Amy, Stephanie and Trevor and Jacqueline and his mates x

I BECAME A FAN OF MATT'S WHEN I WAS ON MYSPACE. I STUMBLED ACROSS HIS PAGE AS I'M A GREAT FAN OF BRIT ROCK. I REALLY ENJOYED HIS MUSIC AND WAS VERY SADDENED WHEN I RETURNED TO HIS PAGE AND LEARNED OF HIS PASSING.
I FOUND THIS PAGE TODAY AS I WAS LOOKING TO SEE IF THERE WAS A MEMORIAL PAGE FOR MATT ON FACEBOOK. I PLAN TO ADD THE BREATHE VIDEO TO MY BANDS ACROSS THE WATERS FACEBOOK PAGE TO SHARE WITH ALL MY FRIENDS IN THE U.K. AND ON MY MAIN FACEBOOK PAGE (RODNEY KNOLTON). I THINK ITS WONDERFUL THAT SO MANY OF MATT'S FRIENDS HONOUR HIM WITH SUCH DEEP RESPECT, LOVE, AND AFFECTION.

Even though you were only officially our son-in law for such a very short time, Gill and I always regarded you as our second son. Not a day goes by without us missing you. Amy has been so strong, you were and still are her whole life, somehow she seems to cope. We know you are still looking after her, thankyou.
